Before attending a gathering, confirm the organizer, date, venue and contact method directly. Check the venue’s current rules and ask what space is available for a quieter arrival or an early departure.
Plan who will handle the dog and who will coordinate with other attendees. Agree on how introductions will be managed and keep enough flexibility to change the plan when the situation calls for it.
